“Stand by for my upcoming tat!” (Hello!)

So, here we go then. A rather rushed welcome to OriginalPurple, my new home on the web. After a suspiciously-rounded 100 posts (hardly any of which were well-rounded) at MySpace, I have decided to join the rush to the actual blogosphere. Mainly ‘cos the cheapo computers I blog from can no longer access MySpace, to be fair… But still, I’ve wanted to expand my bloggery horizons for a wee while now, and so over the coming weeks I’ll be beefing up my presence here with changes to the look, feel and possibly content of the page.

So, what can you expect? Well, if my past blog nonsense is anything to go by, a string of quite unneccessarily epic blurts about popular culture, things that have fetched up in my life over the preceding days, occasional meltdowns and cries for help, and equally occasional big-ups for those chosen few who are quite frankly getting it right.

You can, should you wish to sample my pain so far, read my 100 previous stabs within the blog experiment – if your hideous browser still supports MySpace, hit http://blogs.myspace.com/360degreesofpurple to read back over the garbage I’ve put into the internet since May 2006. If you want something more instant and/or recent, keep a daily tab on my mood swings by hashtagging and such at http://twitter.com/SonOfPurple – and stay tuned here for my first proper post, coming soon (well, as soon as I’ve written it, anyway…) My blogs are not entirely frequent – the gap between has wildly fluctuated between a few days and over a year. Let’s hope that now I’m on a proper actual blog, I’ll start punting up some proper actual content.

Something else that I’ll carry over from the old page – for as long as I can keep them going, at any rate – is the hello/goodbye quotes; on this occasion they’re from The Big Bang Theory and a frozen food ad, but they could be cribbed from films, songs, or any particular lineage that happens to have crossed my legs in the preceding period. See if you can catch ’em all!

That’s enough noise and nonsense to keep you going ’til I actually start writing. Don’t get too used to my use of the default WordPress look – I’ll be changing the style just as soon as I figure out how that’s done. Bear with me – I’m not the speediest or savviest of web writers…
