I appreciate things have been a little quiet up on here of late. In truth, I’ve had a lot of rushing about to do and haven’t really taken the time to sit down and actually compose anything fresh for OriginalPurple since April. Empires have risen and fallen in the months since I came amongst you last; some things have changed and others have remained gallingly the same. I’ll expand upon this in a string of posts I’ll be firing your way in the coming honeysuckle weeks – there’s things I’ve been lollygagging to get off my chest in the last few months and I’m finallly going to be able to take the time to write them down and yell them at you all, assuming I don’t get a load of phonecalls and have to rush off at short notice again!

The lack of longblogging has made my Twitter feed increasingly terse and shrieky, as anyone who’s come over here from there will testify (if you’ve seen the increasingly shrill type scrolling along the Twitter sidebar here, you’ll also be aware how things have been); I’d like to publically apologise for this, and accept that some of the things I posted there should have been held to fester in my brain until I had time to hide them away on here. Or more properly, they should not have been expressed at all; my opinions are not fit for human consumption.

So, when we come back, a look at my life – and how, since I last burped out one of these, I’ve won, and lost, a job (temporary, before you ask); how events in the news have shaped and soured my moods (my much-belated views on the early-August rioting probably don’t deserve to be heard, but they will anyway); and, as it’s me, loads of needless bleating about the telly, including the galling and soul-destroying return of the most evil thing ever to happen to Britain, the hellish Big Brother. It’s likely I won’t be too positive about that!

Anyway, this is just to let you know I am still going to be doing this. I had the choice of blogging or death, and unfortunately (for you) I chose the wrong one. Steady your WordPress, this baby’s going nuclear!
